Cannabis-Assisted Somatic Psychotherapy
A structured, somatic, ceremony-informed process — preparation, a cannabis-assisted session, and integration — for those already prescribed medicinal cannabis.
How it works
The process has three parts: a one-hour preparation session; a three-hour cannabis-assisted session that includes a ceremonial opening, somatic guidance, Reiki and sound healing; and an optional 1.5-hour integration session to consolidate the work.
Please note / good to know
- Please note: I am not a doctor, and I cannot prescribe cannabis (please do not ask). Many doctors such as Dr Sara or online services do prescribe for conditions such as anxiety, depression, insomnia, PTSD, OCD etc if you’ve suffered from these conditions for more than 3 months.
- I do not recommend driving after this session! Cannabis can significantly impair executive functions (focus and decision making), reaction time and fine motor control.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to already have a medicinal cannabis prescription to book this?
Yes — this work is for people already prescribed medicinal cannabis by their own doctor. Andrew is not a doctor and cannot prescribe cannabis; if you don’t yet have a prescription, that’s a conversation to have with a prescribing GP or an online service first.
What actually happens across the three parts of the process?
It starts with a one-hour screening and preparation session, followed by a three-hour cannabis-assisted session that opens ceremonially and includes somatic guidance, Reiki and sound healing, and closes with an optional 1.5-hour integration session to help consolidate what came up.
Can the session happen at home instead of in person?
Yes, for clients on the NSW Central Coast — an at-home session is available as an alternative to the in-person format, priced separately. Get in touch to talk through which setting suits you.
Is it safe to drive afterward?
No — driving straight after a session is not recommended. Cannabis can meaningfully impair focus, decision-making, reaction time and fine motor control, so plan to arrange transport or stay local afterward rather than driving yourself.
Is the integration session compulsory?
No, it’s optional — but it’s there because the session itself is only part of the process. The 1.5-hour integration session helps turn what surfaced into something you can actually carry forward, rather than leaving it as an isolated experience.
How is this different from a standalone Mapacho ceremony or shamanic healing session?
This process is built specifically around your existing medicinal cannabis prescription and is structured as preparation, a cannabis-assisted session, and integration. Mapacho ceremony and shamanic healing are separate offerings that don’t involve cannabis at all — if you’re unsure which is the right fit, get in touch and we’ll talk it through.
